Visit to Darul Sukoon BVS Social Spirit Society

Feedback:

BVS Social Spirit Society arranged a visit to Dar ul Sukoon on 13th and 14th of December 2021. The purpose of this visit is to create a sense of responsibility & gratitude among the students and to get them introduced with the other face of life which is far away from luxuries & grandeurs so that they can be grateful to God for making them perfect.

In this regard the Virbaijeeites have first coordinated with the Darul Sukoon management team in order to identify the most urgent needs for which they could contribute. The Society had amassed a great amount of donations from our primary, Cambridge and AKU sections of the school. The donations include, in addition to money, the mattress, blankets, warm clothes, shawls, jackets, medicines, heath care and sanitary items, toys etc. The packing up of all the donations and planning of the visits was also a tiring process however, with the excellent help of our patron and the volunteer teachers and students, all the packing was completed in time.

The visit comprised of two days. On the first day, almost half of the students from the senior classes accompanied with us in the visit. The first day visit mostly focused on to meet the mentally unstable patients who needed special care. The Virbaijeeites had brought with themselves food, fruits and other gifts such as balloons, balls stationaries, and stickers which they distributed. Few of our teachers and students put up a wonderful show and entertained the Darul Sukoon habitants by displaying their amazing guitar and singing skills. The students also brought with them some balloons, face paints and toys etc. and arranged some fun activities such as blowing balloons, catching the balls, banana eating competition and face painting. Overall, the first day was a huge success.

The second day visit was also very fruitful. This visit mainly comprised of visiting all the facilities within Dar ul Sukoon and the doctors, teachers and other team members who were doing quality welfare work and serving the unfortunate members of our society. The Virbaijeeites interacted with the patients in different classes such as painting, yoga and music classes. The students also visited the special children ward where the children who couldn’t walk on their own and were bed ridden.  Our Virbaijeeites saw the physiotherapy exercises being conducted on the young so their physical complications could be cured. In the end, the Virbaijeeites distributed the donations and other gifts they took with them including some story books and clothes. Few of the faculty members of Darul Sukoon were also given gift mugs as an appreciation for their kind and helpful gesture towards the BVS team.

Overall, the visit to Dar ul Sukoon was a great success and the BVS Social Spirit Society will keep striving for similar upcoming projects. In the end we would like to extend our gratitude to our management for all their support specifically in the donation drive.
