“Poetry is a type of literature that conveys a thought, describes a scene or tells a story in a concentrated, lyrical arrangement of words”.
The Primary Elocution Competition (2022-2023) was held on Tuesday 31st January 2023 in the School’s Khajoorina Auditorium. The participants were segmented into three groups according to their classes. ‘Group A which comprised of Grades 1 & 2. ‘Group B’ which comprised of Grades 3 & 4 and ‘Group C’ which comprised of Grade 5 students who competed for the Navroji Ratanji Wadia Primary English Elocution Shield.
The Poems recited by Groups A & B were on nature, family, school, friends, life, individuals, objects, some of which were funny, others thought provoking. However, Group C elocuted poems that were composed by the participants themselves in honor of our beloved Principal Mrs. Kermin Parakh who retired in Dec 2022 after serving BVS for 17 years with love and dedication. The participants were also awarded marks for the versification of their poems.
BVS is grateful to Ms. Chrislynn Lobo from St. Micheal’s Convent School and Ms. Hina Raheel from The Mama Parsi Girls’ Secondary School for having spared their valuable time by coming to appraise our Competitors.

Group C: Arham Khan (5-B) 1st Position
Muhammad Bilal Zeeshan (5-C) 2nd Position
Rayan Fahad (5-A) 3rd Position
Muhammad Uwaim (5-B) 3rd Position
The Navroji Ratanji Wadia Primary English Elocution Shield went to Arham Khan of Grade 5B.
