Social Studies Project (Primary)

LETS PAINT PAKISTAN GREEN”

Once the American Ex. President Barak Obama said;

“NO CHALLENGE POSES A GREATER THREAT TO FUTURE GENERATION THAN CLIMATE CHANGE”

Pakistan is one of the worst affected countries from climate change. Rising temperatures, severe droughts, flooding due to heavy rains and melting glaciers are some of the problems we are facing. To find small solutions to fight this grave problem the theme of the Social Studies project of the Primary Section was

                                    “LET’S PAINT PAKISTAN GREEN”

Through the different activities, multimedia presentations and discussions the students of Grade 3, 4 and 5 were made aware of the climatic, factors responsible for climate change and problems caused by climate change.

The main objective of this project was to facilitate the students to make their contributions in slowing down climate change. Students of Grade 3 made small souvenir bottles with seeds of different plants and a tag addressing their beloved ones.

Students of Grade 4 made a pledge on project day. They also ran the campaign at home for Greener Pakistan. Students of Grade 5 expressed their views and opinions through media. They made small documentaries on climate change. They also learnt a better use of media for effective cause. Those videos were uploaded on school’s Edmodo’s account. Plantation in the school garden was another activity done by Grade 5.

                        The future will either be green or not at all”
