Sports is an integral part of our curriculum and BVS believes that sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activities. At the same time it empowers the youth. It increases self-esteem and mental alertness and teaches team spirit. It inculcates the sense of sportsmanship. But most of all it keeps one fit while learning the skills necessary to maintain a healthy life style and have fun while doing so. Every year the school has Sports Day for its Primary Section wherein each and every student has a fair chance of competing in at least one event.
This year the Annual Primary Sports Day was held on Friday 16th November 2018 at The Karachi Parsi Institute Ground. Ms. Mahenaz Mahmud, Academic Advisor P.E.C.H.S. Girls School, was invited to grace the occasion.
The fun-filled glorious sports morning began with a colorful P.E. Display by the students of Grades 3/4/5 which was appreciated by all. Each section of the Primary had three races (one Flat Race and two Novelty Races) that went along like clockwork. The races concluded with the Fastest House Relay which was won by the Soparivala House.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Mahenaz Mehmud praised the School Management, the Sports Department and the Staff members who helped out in making the Sports Day a success. She congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of the Primary students. She encouraged those who did not win a medal and advised them to prepare for life as winning and losing is all part of growing up.
At the end of the programme, our Principal Mrs. Kermin Parakh announced the GULBANU PATEL PRIMARY SPORTS TROPHY which went to LANCELOT HOUSE.
