Jamshedi Navroze at BVS Parsi High School

Since BVS Parsi High School encourages inter faith harmony it celebrates all religious festivals of the BVS family under the guidance of the Principal Mrs. Kermin Parakh.

As per previous practice, this year too the Zoroastrian family of BVS celebrated Jamshedi Navroze with great zeal and favour on Friday 19th March, 2021 at the school.

Before starting the celebration, the Zoroastrian staff and students visited the Heerjibouy Dare Meher to seek Ahura Mazda’s Blessings. After returning from the Dare Meher the staff and students decorated the Navroze Haft seen  Table with traditional items and delicacies.

Our school Priest Er. Rohinton Mirza offered the Tandarosti Prayers praying for good health for all. The students sprinkled rose water and showed a mirror to all those who came to see the beautiful decorated table repeating “Ghulab jewa pamerta rhejo, aarsi jewa chamakta rhejo” – meaning “May you always smell sweet like a rose and shine like a mirror”. No one shook hands or hugged each other due to covid-19 but still everyone joyfully greeted each other with elbow bumps.

In the previous years BVS Parsi High School has been taking the school band and the students to entertain the elders and patients at the BMH Parsi General Hospital and the Armaan House for the elderly but because of the ongoing pandemic this was not possible May Ahura Mazda always shower His Choicest Blessings unto our Alma mater and may we spread the values of the motto of our school “Towards That Best Light” all around always.
