BVS ‘S 160 Years Celebration

It was exhilarating for everyone i.e. staff, students and caretakers to enter the school on the morning of Thursday 23rd May, 2019 as the gates of BVS were adorned with fresh marigold garlands, beautiful floral patterns and there was a festive look in celebration of the school’s 160th orbit around the sun.

All four communities of the BVS family i.e. Zoroastrians, Muslims, Hindus and Christians united together and offered special prayers for the prosperity of their beloved BVS.

The Zoroastrians had a humbandagi with special ATASH NIYĀESH prayers recited by our very own Accountant Mobed Rohinton Mirza.

The Muslims arranged a Milad reciting naats to seek Allah’s Blessing for BVS.

The Hindu Community had a Bhajan where the staff and students praised the founder of the school for having given all, this glorious and beautiful institution.

Lastly, the Christians had a mass and recited hyms and held sermons asking the Holy Spirit to shower His Blessings unto BVS always.

The staff, students and caretakers were treated with iftar boxes by the School Management. All students were also given a special momento in remembrance of 160 years celebration by the School Management.

On Tuesday 28th May, 2019, the Managing Committee of BVS had a big thanks giving Zoroastrian prayers performed by all the Zoroastrian priests of Karachi in the school premises in the evening. After the prayers, the Managing Committee and the Principal cut the grand birthday cake and a sumptuous Iftari was enjoyed by the guests, faculty and caretakers of the BVS Parsi High School.

After the iftar reception, the Chairman Mr. Mehelli Dinshaw welcomed the guests and spoke on the short history of BVS. The Principal, Mrs. Kermin Parakh too gave her report and presented a short video on the progress of BVS during the past 10 years.
