Dear Parents / Guardians

With the blessings of Almighty the second term of the academic year 2018-2019 ended gloriously.  As we rolled in to the first term of the new academic year August 2019 to December 2019, the school once again did the very best to complete its set of goals in academic sports & co-curricular activities along with its 160th year celebrations throughout the year. Herewith sharing with you the achievements of the second term.

The Annual Secondary Inter house English Elocution was held on the 7th January 2019. It was an exciting and enthusiastic event for students of grades 6 – 9. There were 2 groups D & E. Muhammad Shafey Sajid of 7C stood 1st in group D, Muhammad Ibrahim Fareed of class 7A secured the 2nd position and Mahd Ahmed of 6D got the 3rd position. In group E. Ali Mansoor of 9D and Taha Shoaib of 9E got the first position, Hunaid Hakeem of 9D and Manqad Raza of 9C got the second position and Abdul Wahab of 8D and Saaim Ali Khan of 9 C got the Third position.

The First Interschool Declamation Contest was held on January 17th 2019. Ten Prestigious schools of Karachi Participated. The topic at hand was “I see humans, but no humanity.” The First position was taken by Iqra Furqan Ahmed from Habib Girls School who spoke for the motion and Huzaifa Farooq from St Micheals Convent School was the runner up. Prerna Bajjaj from the Mama Parsi School took the First position while speaking against the motion and Elsa Qazi from Habib Girls School was the runner up. Mirza Taha Hassan of our school from Quaid-e-Azam house stood first and Wasi Mohsin of Lancelot house was the runner up.

The Primary Section of the BVS Parsi High School proudly presented a spectacular musical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast on the 22nd and 23rd February at the school premises. Five hundred and twenty-five students of the Primary Section ranging from 6 to 10 years old took part in the concert and made it a huge success.

The 6th IBA Robotic Competition was held at IBA main campus on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2019. The BVS boys of grade 7 and 8 got the 1st and 2nd prize in the Robo War Category. Moazzam Khan Alvi, Muhammad Ashir, Aalay Raza and Ahad were the First Winner Team and Muhammad Rayyan Siddiqui, Abdullah Tahir and Ahsan Nadeem were the Second Winner Team.

Keeping up the tradition of BVS Parsi High School of entertaining the elders at Arman Home and Parsi General Hospital on the occasion of Navroze our super hit main characters of the Primary Concert Beauty and the Beast staged in Feb 2019, performed the songs and dances along and brought smiles on the faces of all elders.

While the seniors were busy with the final examinations, our juniors were entertained with in house entertainment like art and craft activity, movies, cool day activity, teacher’s day off Dads as teachers where dads of selected students of Grades 1,2&3 came in and took over the classes as teachers.

It was exhilarating for everyone i.e. staff, students and caretakers to enter the school on the morning of Thursday 23rd May, 2019 as the gates of BVS were adorned with fresh marigold garlands, beautiful floral patterns and there was a festive look in celebration of the school’s 160th orbit around the sun.

All four communities of the BVS family i.e. Zoroastrians, Muslims, Hindus and Christians united together and offered special prayers for the prosperity of their beloved BVS.

The Zoroastrians had a humbandagi with special ATASH NIYĀESH prayers recited by our very own Accountant Mobed Rohinton Mirza.

The Muslims arranged a Milad reciting naats to seek Allah’s Blessing for BVS.

The Hindu Community had a Bhajan where the staff and students praised the founder of the school for having given all, this glorious and beautiful institution.

Lastly, the Christians had a mass and recited hyms and held sermons asking the Holy Spirit to shower His Blessings unto BVS always.

The staff, students and caretakers were treated with iftar boxes by the School Management. All students were also given a special momento in remembrance of 160 years’ celebration by the School Management.

On Tuesday 28th May, 2019, the Managing Committee of BVS had a big thanks giving Zoroastrian prayers performed by all the Zoroastrian priests of Karachi in the school premises in the evening. After the prayers, the Managing Committee and the Principal cut the grand birthday cake and a sumptuous Iftari was enjoyed by the guests, faculty and caretakers of the BVS Parsi High School.

After the iftar reception, the Chairman Mr. Mehelli Dinshaw welcomed the guests and spoke on the short history of BVS. The Principal, Mrs. Kermin Parakh too gave her report and presented a short video on the progress of BVS during the past 10 years.

May the journey of BVS’ being the hub of excellence continue “TOWARDS THAT BEST LIGHT” always. Amen!
